In general, Tyler's behavior is quite forward. He enjoys chatting with and teasing friends as well as flirting excessively with anything vaguely female. Around those his age, he is very open and friendly, though a bit condescending at times. He also has a tendency to push those around him to do better, forcing them to solve their own problems rather than offering direct help.
When it comes to his wants and needs, he is very assertive, and will personally see to it that things going this way. Though quite good at restraining himself, he finds battle thrilling, and is the kind of person who would volunteer to lead the way in a dangerous situation. When it comes to combat itself, he is incredibly devious and aggressive, making snap decisions on the fly to keep up a constant and brutal pressure on his enemies.
Corporation/Alliance: First World Alliance
Path: Those who wish to fight.
Strengths: Tyler has these for days. He's handsome, well-educated, and comes from a very wealthy family with extensive political ties. He's been groomed for his role as an Innovator his entire life, and posses the confidence, fierceness, and tactical ability to pull it off with style. He's also more trustworthy than he might seem at first glance, and deeply values those he considers worthy of his friendship.
Weaknesses: His attitude tends to be a bit condescending, and he's also extremely cocky, both on the battlefield and off. Though he's been trained from an early age, he's somewhat lacking in raw talent when it comes to combat (in-mech and out) and is forced to make up for this with strategy and carefully chosen allies. Finally, he has a massive weakness for women, and will find it difficult to resist the wishes of even a slightly pretty girl.
Background:
The Karsten family is a long and glorious lineage, with extensive ties to the military throughout their history. Many famous commanders have borne their name, and proven themselves successful on the field of battle, which has led to military service becoming something of a tradition in the family. Many Karsten children are born, but only the best are chosen to become Innovators, so as not to sully the family name by sending low-quality soldiers. To become a leader and a conqueror is considered the greatest possible honor for any scion of Karsten.
Tyler's youth was very sheltered, in a sense. Though his father was distant, busy rising through the ranks of the FWA, his mother doted on him and raised him with love and care. The wealth of his family provided for every need he might have, and the money made him popular among his peers as well, his name and cash drawing others to him like moths to a flame.
This changed, however, when he reached the age of seven. As a Karsten child, it was his duty to be tested, to determine whether he was worthy of being sent forth to become an Innovator and bring glory to his name.
The training was brutal, overtaking his previously easy life. Out of dozens of children, only a few would be chosen, and each one knew that they would need to out-compete their peers to come out on top. Though Tyler still got to live some of his normal life while continuing his conventional education, much of his time was thrust into war-games, aptitude tests, and heavy schooling on engineering, particularly with relation to mechs and FRAMEs. In this environment, everyone around him was an enemy, and only the most aggressive, the most tenacious, and the most ruthless could succeed.
Tyler, however, excelled even here. Quickly adapting to the challenge, he threw himself into the new and exciting world now being presented to him, learning the ins and outs of war machines and of battle itself, all the while honing his mind. Though he failed somewhat in terms of skill, his brains and his charisma saw him through. Instead of trying to set back his many cousins and step over their heads to victory, he formed friendships and alliances, relying on the abilities of others where his own did not suffice. This, in effect, was a way of passing the test: he had proven himself to be a leader. Eventually, his performance having been noted, Karsten elders chose him as one of four representatives of his generation to become an Innovator, and be sent to military academy as a cadet.
Now, he finds himself in the situation he'd dreamed of ever since he heard the tales of his father's deeds as a young boy. A tough road lies ahead of him, and the pressure on him is immense, but Tyler knows he can beat whatever obstacles might arise- after all, he was practically born for this.
