Social Links
A Social Link (SL) is a link between one character and another and a measurement of how great their relationship is. The more your character bonds with another, the greater their SL becomes, and the greater the benefits from their bond becomes. SLs have 10 Ranks. So you have Rank 1 SL, Rank 2, and Rank 3, etc. Different benefits come at different ranks. The benefits for each rank are as follows (Remember that each active benefit can only be used once per thread, you can only use SL benefits with one other person while in a thread.):
Rank 1: None
Rank 2: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.2x each user's DMG.
Rank 3: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.3x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 30%.
Rank 4: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.4x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 40%.
Rank 5: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.5x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 50%.
When one player is acting as a mech operator for the other, the pilot gains +5 PTN passively.
Rank 6: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.6x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 60%.
When one player is acting as a mech operator for the other, the pilot gains +6 PTN passively.
Rank 7: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.7x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 70%.
When one player is acting as a mech operator for the other, the pilot gains +7 PTN passively.
Rank 8: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.8x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 80%.
When one player is acting as a mech operator for the other, the pilot gains +8 PTN passively.
Rank 9: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 1.9x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 90%.
When one player is acting as a mech operator for the other, the pilot gains +9 PTN passively.
Rank 10: When performing an Arte simultaneously, each Arte's damage is equal to 2x each user's DMG. One user can also take a blow for another, negating the damage dealt by 100%.
When one player is acting as a mech operator for the other, the pilot gains +10 PTN passively.
Now that you've seen the sweet benefits from ranking up a Social Link, I bet you're wondering how you go ahead and rank these up. It's simple! In order to even establish a Social Link, your character and the other has to form some sort of bond. How they do is completely up to you and whoever you're trying to bond with. Once that's finished, you've officially reached Rank 1! Now, onto the next ones.
Each Social Link has three "instances". These "instances" are basically three different times your character and another have bonded in some way. You could have saved the other in battle, or even just gone out to eat after a long day. Instances are seriously just any time your character and another have developed together or gotten close. 3 of these will result in a SL rank-up. Now, remember that the same instance cannot be used more than once, and new ones that you want to use for a rank-up must be made after the latest rank-up. There also can't be more than one instance in a thread cause that doesn't really make sense. If you're confused, PM "S" and he'll walk you through it.
There's no official way to track SLs. You may use some sort of thread tracker or even just put it in your bio, it's completely up to you. Have fun!
