Missions
What is a mission? Missions are objectives you can take up when going into a thread under the “CONQUEST” section. These are going to be your main way of obtaining GMP and Influence points. You can be contracted by a corporation other than the one you are currently in, just know that the contracted corporation will be the one to get the Influence points.
You file for a contract by creating your own personal thread under the “Missions” subboard. (HANGAR>RENDEVOUZ>MISSIONS) Simply copy and paste the mission template (located below) and fill out your details. Once your mission is completed, quote the original post in said thread with your mission report. The mission report template can be found below as well.
There are three types of missions, Occupation missions, Attack missions, and Defense missions.
Occupation missions are when your corporation is operating in that region for the first time that month. The goal of an Occupation mission is to essentially drive out all enemies from that area and establish your corporation in said area or region. Occupation missions can only be done once per region every month. Not only do you gain Influence when doing Occupation missions but you also deplete all other corporation's influence if your mission is successful.
An attack mission is when you attack another corporation to deplete their Influence in an area. Pretty simple, really. Defense missions are the exact opposite of that! They don't give you a whole lot of Influence like how Occupation missions do but that's because they're a lot more common and easier to do.
Remember that your missions have a time limit on them, and the long you take to complete them, the smaller your reward will be. The normal GMP reward for a mission is 1000 for your first day, and -100 every day that it's incomplete. A clearer showing of the rewards can be seen in the third post of this thread.
Every Sunday at 3:00 AM PST, all missions will be reset. This means that any mission you had taken up before hand will be aborted. HOWEVER, you may simply go to your personal mission thread (as stated previously) and quote the post containing said mission contract and simply write the words "Extending Sortie". This will extend your time to complete the mission till the coming Sunday from the point, however once you extend the sortie your amount of pay will continue to subtract again. A mission can only be extended on Sunday or the day after. If there is some sort of obstruction in one party or the other making either or unable to post, then simply PM a staff member and we can sort things out! Trust me, we're pretty lenient when it comes to stuff like real life priorities (remember that school and work always come first!).
You may be wondering “WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE TO FILL OUT A REPORT?!”. That’s just so that we can track everything you did in the thread without having to read the whole thing and make sure you’re getting the right amount of GMP and Influence. Sound good? Good! Here are the mission contract and mission report explanations:
Mission Contract
Mission Objective: Are you doing an occupation mission, an attack mission, or a defense mission?
Side Objective: Any other more specific objectives you’re trying to complete?
Contractor: Who’s going to contract you to complete this mission?
Enemy: Which corporation are you defending against or attacking? This determines who's Influence you deplete. Please tag the corporation's profile when filling out this field.
Continent and Region: Which continent and which region of said continent are you deploying to?
Area: Link the thread of which you’re going to be operating in.
Estimated Sortie Duration (optional): This is completely optional but used to gauge how long you will be gone for.
Party: Are you taking anyone with you? Tag them here. (You may party with one more of your own characters or UMFs/UMKs. 4 players per party.)
Mission Report
Result: Was it a victory or a loss? (Withdraws count as a loss.)
Player Casualties: How many of your fellow players were shot down? How many retreated?
Enemy Casualties: How many enemy players did you shoot down? How many retreated?
